The Scottish Beavers Network - campaigning for the
Reintroduction of the
European Beaver into Scotland

They're Back !

The License has been granted

After ten years of campaigning we are within touching distance of having beavers back in Scotland. On Sunday 25th May Environment Minister Michael Russell announced that he had granted a license to the Scottish Wildlife Trust and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland for a trial reintroduction of up to four families of beavers into Knapdale, Argyllshire on the west coast of Scotland.

This website has almost done its job and may soon cease to be. I thank you all for your support and do please stay in touch.

You can follow the progress of the reintroduction via the website of
